One of my favourite things about London are its parks — huge, green areas, surprisingly neat for being nature enclaves, and surprisingly full of wildlife for being so tidy and looked after

From the top of the hill, you can see the Maritime Museum we were next to just a few minutes ago and the Queen’s House, as well as the domes of the Royal Naval College. Behind them, we see skyscrapers of Greenwich and Canary Wharf. On the far left, farther in the back, you can spot skyscrapers of the City of London – the famous square mile area in central London with headquarters of some of the world’s leading companies.

50 Epic Yet Offbeat Things To Do in Cape Town!

ACCUHUNT

Based on 2.5 months in the city, my ultimate guide to things to do in Cape Town.

As a digital nomad, I’m always faced with a conundrum. I can either be close to nature or live in a hip, urban city with incredible food and diverse cultures. I can either have easy access to hiking trails or to music and film festivals. I can either detach myself from everything in the mountains or be plugged into the digital world with fast wifi.

As a digital nomad, I often feel like I can’t have it all.

But my recent digital nomad stint in Cape Town changed that. On my whirlwind first trip to South Africa 5 years ago, I knew it was a beautiful city. But I had no idea just how much it would indulge and inspire me.

The One Where Mummy Actually Got To Read

The Greatest Showmum

I enjoy visiting local museums and learning a bit of local history, so during a trip to Swindon this week I took Thing 1 and Thing 2 to The Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.

I had checked in advance what time it opened and we arrived just before. It is an old building but there was a ramp up to the front door and the double pushchair fit in through the pillars and the door. As I walked in I saw a sign directing me to where I could leave the pushchair. The museum and gallery are on several floors with no lift access. This is fine for us as The Things like to roam free these days, but it’s not great if you need a pushchair.

Things 1 and 2 were happy to be set free from their pushchair and immediately started walking around the first gallery and having…

Oklahoma hiking: The Mountain Trail, Robbers Cave State Park

Golden hour light on the Mountain Trail at Robbers Cave State Park, Okla.

Once my fall races ended in November, I did a major re-think about how I scheduled my time. It seemed I was devoting six days a week for training toward some sort of goal, be it a race or some arbitrary strength metric that usually meant I was sticking close to home every week so I wouldn’t miss a workout.

That meant that I was crowding out some of the thing I loved. It made weekend road trips nonexistent. Any hiking had to be within minutes from my house. It’s very limiting, and it showed: For all of 2018, I only went on two trips outside my city to go hike or climb something. Those were awesome trips, but too few in number. It’s hard to get your outdoor fix when you’re tethered to a schedule that’s…
